Hennie Du Plessis
Du Plessis makes his second appearance in the Nedbank Golf Challenge after finishing tied sixth on
debut in 2023.
The South African and son of a tobacco farmer spent 18 months out of the game because of a wrist
injury. Upon his return late in 2025 he won his first tournament back on the Sunshine Tour – the
BluLabel Unlimited Challenge. Perhaps more significantly, it came at the Gary Player Country Club.
It set him up for a remarkable summer where he had a further two runners-up finishes, a third place
finish, two top-five finishes, and three top-20s in his first 11 tournaments back after his recovery.
He contended for a maiden DP World Tour title in both the Investec South African Open and Joburg
Open at the start of 2026, and added a second place in the BMW International Open this past July.
