“I play in tournaments because I believe I’m good enough to win. That’s what I work so hard for every day.”
Kruyswijk has been on a steady rise in his career that this year saw him break through with his maiden DP World Tour victory and secure a debut appearance at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
The South African won the Magical Kenya Open on the DP World Tour and also added a victory on the Sunshine Tour when he triumphed in the Vodacom Origins of Golf at the Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate for his fourth victory on the local circuit.
And he came close to another DP World Tour title when he finished tied second in the Joburg Open.
This was also the year that he played in his first Major – the US Open, where he missed the cut.
Kruyswijk has worked tirelessly from the ground up to get to where he is today, overcoming a few major challenges on his journey including holding down a day job to try and support the first three years of his professional career.
He cites his childhood growing up on a farm and the hard-working example provided by his father and grandfather as the reasons for his own success.
