John Parry

“It’s been a long battle back.”

England’s John Parry will make his debut in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player after what has been an outstanding past DP World Tour season for him.

Parry’s victory in the 2024 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open ended a 14-year wait between DP World Tour titles.

He took the momentum from that victory and went on to finish 11th on the Race to Dubai Rankings last season, earning himself a PGA TOUR card for the coming season.

It’s been remarkable return to form for a golfer who won some major amateur trophies before turning professional in 2007, claimed his first DP World Tour title in 2010, but then lost his playing privileges on Tour.

At one of his lowest points, when he was playing on the mini tours of Europe, Parry admitted he was close to giving up golf.

But he returned to the HotelPlanner Tour and won three times in one season in 2024 to regain his DP World Tour card, before his breakthrough in Mauritius.
