Sterne ended a 13-year win drought with his emotional victory in the DP World Tour’s Soudal Open this year.
The victory came after what Sterne described as a “tough ride” following years of injury. But it was all worth it as Sterne could enjoy the fact that his children were now old enough to see him win.
From his days as one of South Africa’s top-ranked amateurs, Sterne has won seven times on the DP World Tour, including the South African Open in 2008.
This will be his seventh appearance in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player, with his best finish being tied 14th in 2013.
